At the initial visit after my wife passed away, they were compassionate and helpful, and they made the arrangements as painless as possible, but that's about all I can say about them that's positive.
They never missed an opportunity to botch something, from selling me a burial space that already belonged to someone else, (and expecting me to rush out on the morning of my wife's funeral to select a different one), to telling me I could have a headstone placed right away, (when, in fact, the spaces had to be paid off beforehand), to forgetting to send me the deed to one of the two spaces.
The only reason I gave them two stars is that the grounds are nice looking, but I even have to qualify that because I've noticed that the wheels of the mowing equipment carelessly drive directly over a flush headstone near my wife's grave.Added June 22, 2017 by Scott A. - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Awful. We were immediate family and were treated like dirt. Don't make a big mistake by conducting business with them.

My mother bought and paid for her two lots several years ago. When she passed last year the only change was she wanted to be cremated. This was because she was told there could be two people's cremains placed in her space. Anyway even tho all her expenses were paid they still wanted 1200 dollars more to bury her. Then her daughter passed 6 days after her burial and we were told we would have to pay 1/2 the cost of the current price for a space a space already paid for, plus extra money to bury her with my mother. The only thing nice to say nothing there is nothing nice about the people or practices this company does to very sad people who have lost a loved one. It took a grandson buying sod to build up my mother;s grave, after numerous calls asking why it was never done we get a call that says "We added sod and grass seed to your mother's grave" Right! After the grandson spent saturday doing it himself. They took credit for that. God help anyone dumb enough to eal with Highland.

My brother was buried there first in the Veteran garden because my dad was a Vet which is fine BUT his flat stone is constantly being run over by the mowers and the grave digging machines the beautiful etched stone is always dirty and muddy and the racecar is almost no longer visible. then my mom passed and is buried next to my brother same scenario. The last straw came when my dad passed in Feb we waited 5 months for a " mistake by the VA" so they say for his headstone to be placed. They were asked several times to raise my brother marker and didn't so we did and also put rock around all 3 markers so hopefully they will not get run over and they called and told us we had 3 days to remove it. This is after they call non stop since my dad died trying to get us to finish our funeral arrangements very pushy rethinking our arrangements.......

I was very disappointed in the condition of my family's burial sites. They are buried in the area with the flat stones. I have written before because this area is always soggy, muddy, and full of ruts. I realize the need for many burials but the sites are never cleaned up in a timely manner. I had a hard time finding my brother's stone because it was covered with mud and I had to use a pair of pliers to pry up the urn for flowers for Memorial Day. Their names are Louis E. Knelanger, Clara I. Knelanger and Scott A. Knelanger. I have my deceased husband's grave [Carl L. Molargik] in another section but I dont know if I want to be buried there. Other than mowing, I really dont see any other landscaping going on. A cemetery should be a comforting place to visit, not stressful .And a person should not go away feeling angry. Sincerely , Sandra [Molargik]Carpenter
